Applying for a Grant.

Grant proposals help the K-W Foundation for Lutheran Education fulfill our purpose while helping others fulfill their missions.

Please complete the Request for More Info form below, as a first step in the process. All grant applications will be reviewed by the Grants Committee, for evaluation and approval. You will be contacted for clarification if necessary, to answer any committee questions, and in order to complete the full application.

If you are invited to complete the application, you will be asked for specific details about how the Grant will be used and how the project will be supported and maintained in the future. You may also be required to submit financial information about your organization. Prospective organizations are required to provide full contact information for the person responsible for the administration of the Grant and the person who will provide the updates and complete the final evaluation (if roles are separated).

The signing officers affiliated with your request will be required to sign any documents related to your submission. If there are any changes to the purpose for which a Grant was approved, the Grants Committee must be notified in writing and reserves the right to cancel the approval.

Granting Periods.

There will be two granting periods annually, with Grant Requests opening on January 1st and again on July 1st.

  • Grant requests open January 1 and close May 31, with funding paid by June 30.

  • Grant requests open July 1 and close November 30, with funding paid by December 31.

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Grants Committee and applicants will receive notification of the status of their application.

  • Funding must be used within 12 months of the funding date.

  • Due to the limited amount of funding available, only one application per organization per granting period will be considered, and partial funding may be provided.

  • Organizations may apply annually for the same cause if previously funded initiatives are completed and an evaluations report has been submitted that measures the impact of the funding.
